ABOUT THE FILM PRODUCERS’ ASSOCIATION

The Latvian Film Producers’ Association was founded in 1993 and is one of the most active public organizations in the industry, uniting producers and major film production studios. The Producers' Association currently has 44 members.

The main goal and task of the association is to promote the development of the audiovisual sector by participating in the development of the sector's policy in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the National Film Centre, the State Culture Capital Foundation, LIAA and other public organizations within the Film Council and various other local and international councils and associations.

The Film Producers' Association is a vital tool for discussion between filmmakers and institutions, creating a common vision for the sustainable development of the sector and actively contributing to the implementation of the jointly set tasks. The Association is a member of FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations).

The Latvian Film Producers’ Association works closely with the Latvian Service Producers’ Association, jointly achieving the set goals in attracting foreign film projects and developing the industry, as well as developing and implementing a new, modern and green cinema pavilion project.

In 2023, The Film Producers' Association started working on the implementation of the Audiovisual Directive in Latvia, in cooperation with the National Film Centre and the Ministry of Culture.

At the General Meeting on 15 September 2022, Aija Bērziņa (Chairperson), Gints Grūbe and Arta Ģiga were unanimously elected (23 votes) as members of the Board.
